Bramble

Donacre High Dance at Steeleigh
27/07/90 – 21/08/03

The true foundation bitch of the Steeleigh line, producing in her first litter her glorious son Steeleigh Black Magic, and in a repeat of that mating, his younger brother Steeleigh What A Mischief, only lightly shown due to never quite reading the script! A super bitch to base any kennel on, I had fun with her in the ring, but her greatest legacy was in her litters.

Barney

Steeleigh Black Magic JW
12/06/93 – 21/06/02

My dog of a lifetime and most sadly missed by us all. He really began the whole story and with his success there was no going back – I was well and truly hooked! Rarely could you hope to have met such a wonderful ambassador for this most popular breed. He had everything you could ask for and more and we were privileged to have shared his 9 years of life, my only regret being I wished it was longer. He will never be forgotten.

Cherry

Donacre High Antics at Steeleigh
09/09/91 – 21/08/03

The second delightful Donacre bitch who bounced her way to many wins in the show ring, but like Bramble, her greatest achievement came in the form of her stunning daughter Steeleigh Simply Classic, from whom all current dogs in the kennel are descended.

Webster

Steeleigh American Express
05/11/01 – 21/03/11

The third member of the American trio, Steeleigh American Express possesses the best qualities of both his parents – the original Webster & my own Simply Classic. He too gained his Junior Warrant while still a puppy, was RBPIS at Derby Canine Society & has carried on from his many BP awards to take numerous BOBs at Open Show level& some fine wins at Championship Shows .He has been placed every year at Crufts & 2005 saw the arrival of the long awaited first American Express litters. Webster’s beautiful daughter Gale was made up in April 2008 & is now CH Fabracken Remember Me & his young son Archie , my own Steeleigh Express Order JW won his first RCC at the Labrador Retriever Club Championship Show in June 2008 , his second RCC in July 2010 & finally his first CC in March 2011 . He has now sired a second champion SA CH Steeleigh Express Delivery (sub. to app ) .One of the saddest days of my life was having to say goodbye to this special boy . He had fought so hard for us & we for him following spine surgery in Nov 2010 but despite highs as well as lows in the preceeding 4 + months it was clearly not meant to be that he live a really long life with us . We were however still priviledged to be the family who shared his life – the ultimate dog , a perfect labrador & simply our best boy .

Archie

This striking young dog made an instant impact with may awards BP awards at Open Shows & qualifying at his only chance for Crufts 2007 at Boston Championship Show in January .He easily won his Junior Warrant at 11 months old & he came a  fabulous 2nd in Special Puppy Dog  at Crufts 2007. He was BPIB at WELKS &  Bath Championship Shows , was BPD at Southern Counties Championship Show & he topped off a stunning puppy career going BPIS at The Labrador Retriever Club Championship Show 2007 !He then had an enforced long absence due to lack of coat but hit top form again at The Labrador Retriever Club Championship Show 2008 winning his 1st RCC from the yearling class.

It is with the heaviest heart I report the very sudden early death of my precious boy. Always loved & forever missed until we meet again . Run free my perfect blonde bombshell

Guinness

Steeleigh Truly Unruly JW

The second half of that dynamic duo also gained his junior warrant at just over a year old. He was BPIB at Birmingham National, won many BP awards and several good classes at championship shows. A difficult dog in his early days (living up to his pedigree name!) he has now steadied and is a joy to show. Will need more time than his sister but is maturing nicely. He is now proven at stud & is producing nice typey pups . His oldest son Gemarla Lone Star has had a fabulous start to his career for his young owner & we are all thrilled with him !!! A new promising daughter has just been awarded BPB at East Anglian LRC Championship Show & hopefully the latest home grown Guinness children will appear in 2011

Ebony

Steeleigh Classic Edition
25/02/03

The youngest Simply Classic daughter from the third litter she produced. A true showgirl like her mother, who will hopefully produce a litter sometime in the near future. Ebony has now retired from showing & thoroughly enjoys her early promotion into the house with her older relatives !!

Ellie

The most extrovert of the American triplets, gaining BPIS at several Breed Club Shows as well as her Junior Warrant and placed every year at Crufts including a 1st in Post Graduate Bitch in 2006 .She started 2004 with RBIS at Three Ridings LRC Open Show and ended the year by producing her first litter of nine black beauties . The first of two American Pie daughters, full of character and a real lover of life, Foreign Legacy bounced into the show ring with immediate success, winning RBPIS at Crowle Agric. Open Show. She has also gone on from her BP awards to take BOB at Open Shows & is consistently winning or being placed at all her Championship Shows . A first litter is planned from her in the next year . Mable finally produced her first litter in June 2011 & her gorgeous son Denzel , Steeleigh Secrets Out, will debut at the end of the year .

My youngest Junior Warrant winner at just 11 months old and I obviously have high hopes for her future show career. She has won countless BP & BOB awards often beating her brother Guinness .She produced her 1st bumper litter of 10 in June ’08 & her 2 daughters S.Hot Shot ( Betty Boo ) & S. Hot to Handle ( Sybil ) debut at the end of the year . She won numerous BP & BOB awards often beating her brother Guinness & also many good wins at championship level . In June 2008 she produced her bumper first litter of 10 which included her very successful daughters Steeleigh Hot to Handle JW & Steeleigh Hot Shot JW. They too are now both BPIS winners at championship show level & Hot to Handle has already won 2RCC’s before the age of 2 ! Once again we have been faced with a devastating time losing our beautiful Molly before the age of 6 . She was placed in a big class at Crufts 2010 looking in her prime but  sadly died of cancer just a month later . Life is often so cruel & our Molly like the rest leaves a big hole in our hearts & lives . Run free from pain until we meet again sweet Molly – we all miss you
